DIY high-low skirt

A really cute summer trend is the high low  skirt (or handkerchief skirt).

I read about it on Universal Doll and was immediately inspired to do a project! Honestly, it's so simple and easy, ANYONE can do this.

Check out a reference image of several popular gal brands doing the high low look:

So let's make our own! You will need a long maxi skirt and some scissors.

Spread the skirt out, and cut out a large triangle. You can go up as high or keep it as low as you want - you will just need to adjust the angle accordingly. I chose the keep mine a bit low and just show ankles and shoes. :)

Here is what it looks after you cut it and bring the skirt fabric back together.

And there you have it! Very simple!

I found a light weight tiered skirt at an outlet store, but you can get yours pretty much anywhere as this type of skirt is easy to come by! Try Target, or even your local thrift store. :)

If you do this project, I would love to see pictures of your finished project!

Style Update - Waved Hair

Hello Gals! ^_^
Good news~ I have a part time job close to home! Many want to know why I quit my full time job...

I missed being able to sleep in and have a decent amount of time to get ready in the morning! With an hour commute, I was always tired and pressed for time.
Now I  am happy to get a great nights sleep and wake up refreshed and ready for the day! It makes me feel pretty and puts me in a great mood.

Recently I was able to go to work and have time to come home and get dressed for class.
Here is a close up of my makeup - I used Diamond Lash in Glamorous. My friends in class noticed and loved how dramatic these lashes are. I felt very lovely with this pair!

I can wear my favorite type of earrings. ^_^

Anyway, just an outfit post to share for now. I used my triple barrel curling iron to get the lovely waves in my hair. I will do a review on it soon to share how well it works!

Until next time, my lovelies!

Sleep over with Mina (Cherry Gal)

Recently I got together with a member of Cherry Gal for a sleep over. ^_^ We had lots of fun playing a dance game on the Wii and ordering pizza.

My favorite part was giving Mina a makeover. :D She loves Popteen and Seventeen styles, so I tried to make her look sweet and cute.

I hope I succeeded! Take a look....

I think her blush really shows up well in this picture below, even though its a funny angle.

And of course, here is a pretty close up of the makeup style I did for her.  What do you think? Did I do a pretty good job or what?! I think Mina looks so cute and pretty. ^_^

:D Makeovers and sleep overs are such fun!

Teaser photo

Just got my triple barrel hair iron in today and gave it a try!

It works really well! Tons of volume, and its much quicker to use than a regular curling iron.

Just wanted to post a quick photo to show off a bit. ^_^ I will make a post with some more details on the iron and what not. Just wanted to make a quick post and share with you. :D

Fresh Spring Mint

This is all pretty much stolen from LookBook.nu ^_^

I really like the fresh Spring look of this color! Although I look pretty terrible in Mint, I still love the color especially for accessories.

update your nails!

Updating your nails is fun and easy! You can do it at home with polish you already own, and jewels and charms that can be bought online (my fav is FullMoon Deco) or at a craft store like Michael's.

I started off with my nails at basic color, then added a top coat of Essie shattered pink diamond glitz. I finished by using a small drop of super glue to add a silver metal star stud.

Here are the polishes I used:

In a New York Color Minute - Manhattan
(248)
In a New York Color Minute - Park Ave
(246)

Essie - shattered pink diamond glitz

Anytime you want to update your nails, don't waste money going to the salon often. Just look at what you have! Common household items (like toothpicks, hole reinforcements for binder paper, stamps) can be used to make nail designs if you're feeling creative. ^_^
