Japan Festival - Houston 2013

Hey gals! I'm so sorry for the late post, but I was super busy with finals and Shimmy Mob. Luckily, I had several posts already drafted and was able to publish a few without going MIA for almost a month, eheheh.

Anyway, I had a lovely time at Japan Festival with my sister, Mina. Also, I was very fortunate to meet a couple of gyaru at the festival. I know, please hold back the surprise and don't die - I met gyaru in real life and not just on the internet! Hahaha... I was trying to sneak a picture, and they actually asked me for a picture as well. Robin and Mina (another Mina ^^) were introduced to me from the Bulaklak Tribe. :D Such sweet gals! One is from New Orleans and the other Houston, so we are planning to meet up again and hang out very soon.

Short Gyaru Nails

I've been going crazy with acrylics lately, and all the filing has made my nails weak yet again. Always a vicious cycle with false nails!

But I think you can still have cute nails even if they are short! As long as you don't go overboard with colors or deco pieces, short nails can be lovely too.

I used one color, a drop of nail glue to secure the stud, and then a clear gel top coat.

Do you think these are Gyaru, or just meh? I personally like to have options when letting my nails rest from acrylics.

Easter - Past Due!

Hey lovelies! So sorry I forgot to post Easter Pictures, but I have been busy with school! Anyway, I dyed my hair pink, so its quite bright - but it is still a work in progress as I want to add some lavender color as well.

Black and Blue Nails

Here are some nails I did quite a long time ago (January I think) but I forgot to share! I used black polka dot tips and painted the rest over clear tips.

These do not have acrylic, but they were quite lovely! Unfortunately, they lasted less than two weeks!! :( Maybe that's why I forgot about them?

Weightloss and Self Confidence

Hello lovelies! You may have known (or not) that I am still continuing a healthy lifestyle with more exercise and balanced nutrition. The progress is slow, but quick weight loss has never been permanent for me, especially with fad diets that promise quick results. This time I am trying to make a permanent and manageable change that will get me healthy and keep me healthy.

Exercise has always been such a drag for me. So, I have been going to belly dance classes with my good friends Amanda and Tara, which is taught by another good friend Tiffany. Its so much fun and a great way to exercise and gain self confidence!

The other night we went to a drum jam at Solea in Houston put on by Belly Dance Theatre Houston.

We had so much fun dancing and hanging out! I know the group shot is terrible - but that really was the least blurry one. Hahaha... I think I look kinda scary! ^-^

Shoppaholic Rehab

I was going through some of my old clothes to get rid of and made some outfit combinations I hadn't really thought up yet. I know this is kind of boring, but I feel proud of myself for this! I have a bad habit of looking at my closet and saying "I've got nothing to wear." Well... I have lots of stuff to wear, I guess I am just lazy a lot of times or bored with my current clothes.

Then I want to go shopping and buy more stuff that just sits in my closet after only a few times of wearing. Terrible habit I am breaking! I am trying to be more creative and think positive about what I have and what I can do with it. Here are a couple of things I came up with:
